Why Your Role Matters:

We have two opportunities available for Payroll Project Officers to support the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll project outcomes. In this role, you contribute to audits, reviews, and remediation activities that strengthen payroll integrity and pay confidence. Reporting to the Payroll Project Team Leader, you help ensure compliance with legislation, Enterprise Agreements, policies, and approved data standards while supporting continuous improvement across payroll projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre- and post-payroll project audits, documenting findings and providing recommendations.
  • Identify, calculate, and remediate payroll inaccuracies, escalating complex matters as required.
  • Apply relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and policies accurately to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in line with approved standards.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries, resolving standard issues and escalating non-standard matters.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, P&C Systems, Employee Relations, and other stakeholders to support resolution of compliance matters.
  • Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and continuous process improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, tax obligations, and regulatory changes.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced payroll professional with substantial knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and a strong compliance mindset. You communicate clearly and provide high-quality customer service to stakeholders at all levels.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated payroll experience within a complex environment.
  • Experience in working with and interpreting complex Enterprise Agreements.
  • Exposure to payroll remediation programs is highly regarded.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential. Exposure working with large datasets is desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle Payroll/HRIS Products desirable.
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Office.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
