About This Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and high performing Placement Officer to join the Clinical Education Unit (CEU) within our world-leading School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences on a permanent basis. The CEU is a dynamic, inter-professional unit of eleven professional staff who support academic clinical practice requirements for students enrolled in the school. This is an opportunity to work with students, staff and the wider community to contribute to the education of our students and create real change.
As the Placement Officer, you will work closely with the Clinical Education Liaison Managers (CELMs) and Academic Course Coordinators to support student placement activity across all placement courses in each of the School’s disciplines (Audiology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy). This includes a wide range of placement coordination and administrative support activities, including processing relevant financials, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and facilitating the efficient and effective functioning of the unit’s day to day procedures, operations, logistics and assurance of standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Administrative Support: Provide high-level administrative assistance to CELMs, Academic Course Coordinators, and statewide placement collaboratives, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with university policies.
- Client & Student Liaison: Act as a key contact for students and stakeholders, managing queries via CRM, email, and meetings while providing accurate information and advice.
- Data, Systems & Compliance Management: Maintain accurate records, manage data entry and reporting through systems such as InPlace, Oracle CRM, SI-Net, and Blackboard, and coordinate student compliance requirements for placements and facilities.
- Event & Financial Coordination: Organise and support events, meetings, and engagement activities; handle logistics, documentation, and minutes; and process financial requests such as bursary payments and invoices.
About You
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in business, health, science or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in student placement and/or student administration.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working with students on placement, and/or demonstrated exposure to teaching and learning activities such as WIL, student administration or other similar in an educational context.
- High level computer skills, including word processing, data storage and retrieval, for the accurate collection, detailed analysis and reporting of information.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks including the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Able to be flexible and adaptable to change and willing to explore new options and find creative solutions to problems.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and show a willingness to work across a range of activities.
- A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service.
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with student administration and knowledge of degree programs is desirable, as well as an understanding of program accreditation requirements or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge. Knowledge of University administrative systems such as InPlace, Blackboard and Si-net would be advantageous.
