Post Doctoral Scholar
The Sociolinguistics Lab of the Department of Spanish & Portuguese invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position that will be based at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. The group is involved in several research projects, including the study of language and identity, language and migration, and language and gender. The Post Doctoral Scholar will take a leading role in the study of minority Muslim identities in Saudi Arabia.
Required Education: Doctorate (Academic) with a Major in Linguistics
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics by the time of appointment. Demonstrated record of accomplishments in research on language and culture. Research on the role of concealment and dissimulation in religious identities.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with the theories and method of linguistic anthropology. Knowledge of ethnographic methods. Research on language and gender. Experience with collaborative and public-facing research projects
