At the Department of Physiology Anatomy & Genetics (DPAG), we undertake discovery science where we reassemble physiological processes at the molecular, cellular, tissue and systems level of organisation. In so doing we provide a bridge to translational medicine, and interface between physical and life sciences. Overview of Role
We are seeking a Research Commercialisation Manager to join Professor Dame Molly Stevens’s team at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. You will help translate biomedical innovations into commercial impact, working across science, business, and strategy.
The Stevens Group, based in DPAG and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, leads interdisciplinary research in regenerative medicine, biosensing, and therapeutics. Learn more at www.stevensgroup.org.
This post is available from October 2025 for 18 months; part-time appointments may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Support IP protection and commercialisation, including patent searches, invention disclosures, and market landscaping
- Lead funding proposals to industry, VCs, charities, and grant bodies
- Coordinate internal translational funding programmes
- Manage administrative activities and small-scale project oversight
Selection Criteria
- PhD/DPhil or equivalent experience in bionanoscience or related field
- Experience in grant writing and managing complex research projects
- Skilled in IP assessment, patent searches, and business case development
- Strong understanding of collaborative scientific planning and critique
