Job Title: Post Doctoral Scholar
Department: Public Health | Division of Biostatistics
The Biostatistics Division in the College of Public Health is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to conduct methodological research in infectious disease epidemiology. The research involves the development of practical and computationally efficient methods for adapting and fitting models from survival analysis to infectious disease transmission data and other data, including genetic sequences, from outbreaks and epidemics. These data could be at the household or population level, and the methods development can include causal inference, model diagnostics, estimation of secondary attack risks or infectiousness profiles, estimation of reproduction numbers, and tracking the population-level spread of infection with consideration of social and environmental determinants of health. Approximately 80% of the postdoctoral fellow’s time will be devoted to theoretical derivations, simulation studies, implementation of methods in open-source software, preparing manuscripts, and giving presentations. The remaining 20% will be devoted to training and mentorship, including grant writing experience and serving as an informal mentor for a Graduate Research Associate.

Doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related field.
