Principal Project Officer

About This Opportunity

We are seeking two highly motivated and experienced Principal Project Officers to coordinate the delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across multiple disciplines. Working under broad direction, you will lead end-to-end project delivery activities across projects of varying size, scale and complexity, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards while engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing project lifecycle activities, including planning, monitoring, evaluation, risk and issue management.
  • Developing and implementing project plans, schedules and documentation to support effective delivery and governance.
  • Providing high-level project management and subject matter advice to support informed decision-making and successful outcomes.
  • Managing stakeholder engagement, project communications, budgets and reporting to ensure alignment with project objectives.

  • 2 x full-time, permanent positions
  • Base salary will be in the range $104,616 - $113,920 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 7)
  • Based at our St Lucia location

About You

You are an experienced project professional with strong delivery capability, sound judgement and the ability to manage complexity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Postgraduate qualifications (or progress toward them) in Business, Project Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline with at least four years’ subsequent experience delivering projects of similar scale and scope.
  • Demonstrated experience applying best-practice project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Strong project planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage risks, prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders across varying levels of seniority.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear project documentation and reports.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, or the ability to rapidly adapt to new systems and technologies.
