Position Summary

The Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health (CCCEH), Department of Environmental Health Sciences, Mailman School of Public Health, seeks a Program Coordinator to help oversee all research conducted at CCCEH, with a special focus on a multi-site NIH funded research project, Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO). The Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures to meet milestones prescribed in CCCEH research, including federally funded grants. A key aspect of this responsibility includes coordination and oversight of Institutional Review Board and consent protocols for all studies at CCCEH. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the program manager and meet regularly with the lead research worker from each project to track progress and remediate any issues. The Program Coordinator will also be available to all center staff to field questions and remediate issues as they arise, for ECHO and all CCCEH studies. The Program Coordinator will also work closely with the data core to assist with the Participant Management System and with data queries as needed. The Program Coordinator will act as the primary liaison to federal granting agencies for research related inquiries.  Additional responsibilities include communicating with consultants and contractors on federal grants and overseeing shipment of specimens to offsite laboratories. The coordinator will also assist in grant writing, compiling progress reports, providing administrative organization, preparing data for analysis, and drafting manuscripts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and overseeing Institutional Review Board and consent protocols for all studies at CCCEH. (25%)
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures to meet milestones prescribed in CCCEH research, including ECHO and other federally funded grants. (20%)
  • Work closely with the program manager and meet regularly with the lead research worker from each project to track progress and remediate any issues. (10%)
  • Be available to all center staff to field questions and remediate issues as they arise, for ECHO and all CCCEH studies. (10%)
  • Work closely with the data core to assist with the Participant Management System and with data queries as needed. (10%)
  • Assist in grant writing, compiling progress reports, providing administrative organization, preparing data for analysis, and drafting manuscripts. (10%)
  • Act as the primary liaison to federal granting agencies for research related inquiries.  (5%)
  • Communicating with consultants and contractors on federal grants and overseeing shipment of specimens to offsite laboratories. (5%)
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three (3) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include two or more years of experience with managing Institutional Review Board protocols.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Salary Range

Minimum: $68,000- Maximum: $75,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
