Program Management Specialist
Department:
The Department of Psychology is the largest academic department within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. As part of the department's academic mission, the department has five distinct graduate programs across four tracks.
Position Overview:
This position is essential to the day-to-day administration and management of the graduate programs within the department, including maintaining graduate student files and databases; processing applications using SA software; coordinating admissions; supporting student progression, milestones, and graduation; preparing graduate assistant appointment letters and benefit forms; processing fee repayments; and supporting ongoing national accreditation documentation, reporting, and compliance. This position will also serve as the departmental liaison to the graduate school, will attend department meetings and graduate program meetings, assisting with scheduling and record-keeping and engages in course planning and scheduling classes. In addition, this position will maintain and update the website and web-based materials (e.g., program requirements, deadlines, policies, and faculty/staff information), support prospective-student outreach, and help ensure timely, accurate public-facing information that directly affects recruitment and yield. The position also coordinates event planning and engagement activities critical to enrollment and program competitiveness, including recruitment events, admitted-student communications, orientations, information sessions, and periodic program meetings. Relatedly, the coordinator supports graduate program communications, such as producing and distributing newsletters and announcements that keep current students, faculty, and stakeholders informed of deadlines, policies, events, and program updates

Telework:
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.
Responsibilities:
- coordinating graduate program management and record keeping;
- liaison with the Graduate School as well as faculty
- support with accreditation
- assist with relevant meeting, admissions and enrollment
- creating graduate student contracts and benefit forms
- processing fee awards for graduate students
- keeping records and amending balances
- correspondence with graduate students
- responsible for outreach and communications
- maintaining and updating website
- event planning
- pcard purchasing for graduate events
- providing general administrative help as needed
- serve as backup payroll preparer.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years experience in administrative staff work
- Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in higher education
- 3 years of professionally relevant experience.

Salary:
Pay Range $23.08/hr to $30.57/hr based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay Program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
