Job Description:
Title: Program Outreach Leader- Family Educator
Department: University and Community Engagement

General Statement of Duties:
Under the leadership of the Program Manager, Family Educator is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all family engagement activities including, but not limited to outreach, recruitment, and retention of Worcester parents and caregivers. Candidate must be a supportive, willing, positive, and energetic participant in the implementation of the outcome measurement system.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement family engagement outreach, programs and activities for the school year, specific to Problem Gambling Prevention.
- Publicizes family engagement activities and events using newsletter, website, social media, etc.
- Attend weekly meetings to discuss program operations and activities.
- Participate and assist in the implementation of training opportunities.
- Assure the collection of all data including participant demographic attendance and assessments.
- Encourages parents to participate in school activities such as back-to-school nights.
- Helps parents strengthen parenting skills and involvement in their children's lives.
- Create a safe, supportive environment for all participants and staff
- Obtain and monitor supplies and materials within available budget.
- Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Promotes regular, two-way, parent-school communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Good communication, organizational and time management skills necessary.
- Must be able to work with a variety of people and meet deadlines.
- Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record.
- Must be dependable, flexible and adaptable
- Able to work independently and in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree and/or 4 year of experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
- Valid driver's license/state ID and transportation necessary to conducted outreach activities.
- Bilingual preferred

Hourly Rate: $20-25 per hour
