A Project Manager leads projects through the full project life cycle, ensuring delivery within defined scope, schedule, and resource constraints. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages risks and progress, and ensures alignment with the University's priorities and stakeholder expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage project execution throughout the full project life cycle to ensure adherence to defined scope, schedule, and resource constraints
- Develop and maintain a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and associated project planning artifacts.
- Direct or coordinate activities of cross-functional project team members.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports and performance updates to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a stakeholder-informed communication plan tailored to project needs.
- Adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary and professional manner.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's Christian model and Mission - Training Champions for Christ.
- Lead the creation of step-by-step training materials, documentation, and instructional content for IS products and services.
- Serve as the primary lead for IS crisis communication efforts, including drafting and distributing timely outage notifications and impact updates to university stakeholders (requires participation in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends).
- Facilitate and teach training classes for faculty & staff, ensuring content is accessible and easy to understand.
- Represent Information Services at university events (e.g., CFAW, Summer Orientation, Student Technology Council), communicating IS offerings to diverse audiences.

- Manage tasks and cross-functional projects that span multiple teams or stakeholder groups.
- May serve as the primary business or technical representative on projects.
- Develop communication plans that consider stakeholder needs.
- Track project risks and progress with guidance from senior team members.
- Build stakeholder trust through clear communication, responsiveness, and adapting to diverse audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Project Manager II
- Demonstrated technical experience beyond foundational level, whether through prior project exposure, domain familiarity, or advancement from a PM I role.
- Bachelor's degree; Business, IT, Communications, or related field is required.
- 1-2+ years of experience supporting or managing projects is required.
- Demonstrated experience creating training materials and delivering instructional content to varied audiences.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to quickly understand technical concepts and translate them into clear, user-friendly language.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to assess situations, evaluate information, and solve both routine and complex problems using sound judgment.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite is a huge plus.

- Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English to support professional correspondence and collaboration.

- Proficiency in standard office software and relevant project/program management tools.

- Frequently required to perform desk-based work, including computer use and data entry.
- Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and collaborative settings, with or without reasonable accommodation.
