Salary package: $98,378 - $113,252 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Fixed Term (up to 2 years)
The Position
Yardhura Walani – the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research – is seeking an organised and motivated Project Officer to join our dynamic Culture and Wellbeing Program team.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research that directly informs programs and policies benefiting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia. Working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, communities, and organisations, you'll coordinate operational aspects of our growing research portfolio including innovative projects focused on Indigenous wellbeing.
As Project Officer, you'll work across multiple externally funded research projects, managing milestones, budgets, and stakeholder relationships while contributing to publications, grant applications, ethics processes, and community engagement activities. Some domestic travel may be involved.
The Person
We are looking for a skilled coordinator with strong organisational abilities and a genuine commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You bring:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Project Management desirable) or equivalent professional experience
Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and contemporary issues
Excellent project coordination skills with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently to meet deadlines
Outstanding communication skills and relationship-building capabilities
