• Full-time, Fixed-Term position at HEW 8 until December 2028.
• Hawkesbury campus with flexible working arrangements.
• Salary: $116,636 – $129,479 per annum, plus 17 percent Super and Leave Loading.

Ensure every remediation payment is validated with absolute accuracy and independence.

The Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical part in Western’s Pay Confidence Program by providing independent validation of all remediation calculations before payment. Working within the Governance stream, you will safeguard accuracy, ensure defensible audit outcomes, and support compliance with approved methodologies and industrial relations requirements.

You will operate as the final checkpoint in a high‑volume, high‑complexity workflow. Each calculation must be examined with complete objectivity, including reviewing logic, verifying documentation, checking assumptions, and conducting recalculations where required. You will document issues, support audit readiness, and provide mandatory sign‑off before payments can proceed. This role suits someone who thrives in detail‑heavy environments where accuracy, independence, and structured judgement are paramount.

In collaboration with the Senior Remediation Analysts, Governance team, and Data Lead, you will monitor trends, identify systemic issues, and recommend improvements to enhance the quality and reliability of remediation outputs across the program.

What Success Looks Like:

• Validate remediation calculations with full independence and 100 percent accuracy.
• Conduct recalculations and quality sampling based on risk thresholds.
• Identify and categorise errors, escalating systemic issues and maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
• Provide mandatory sign‑off and ensure all calculations meet approved methodologies and IR requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through quality insights and trend reporting.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Business, or related discipline.
• Experience in quality assurance, audit, financial analysis, or payroll validation.
• Strong analytical and mathematical capability with exceptional attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, reconciliations, and data validation.
• Understanding of payroll calculations, industrial instruments, and award or EA interpretation.
