The center accomplishes this mission through collaborative, data-rich strategies including technical assistance and consultation and rigorous research and evaluation using a range of methodological tools.

Job Description
The Urban Education Research Center (UERC) seeks a research assistant to provide research support across a variety of educational research and evaluation projects. At the direction of the UERC leadership team, the research assistant will assist with research planning, data collection and preparation, quantitative analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and evaluation activities, including instrument development, data collection, data analysis, and report writing.
- Manage quantitative data for UERC projects including processing, cleaning, and merging a variety of different kinds of data with varying units of analysis, structures, and formats
- Conduct quantitative analyses including descriptive statistics, graphical displays and statistical modeling
- Work with project leaders to produce clear written summaries and compelling data visualizations of research and evaluation findings for diverse UERC audiences, including practitioners, education leaders, policymakers, and academic stakeholders.
- Communicate with clients, partners, and research participants to ensure steady progress toward research and evaluation goals
- Support UERC leadership team in developing grant and project proposals.
This is a full-time 12-month, benefit eligible, unranked non-tenure track academic appointment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of experience conducting quantitative analyses
- Demonstrated experience conducting data preparation
- Demonstrated experience working with R and Microsoft Excel data management and analysis software.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Good oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
- Experience conducting research in K-12, higher education settings.
- Experience conducting qualitative analyses
- Experience working with more complex statistical modeling strategies
