Research Assistant

Salary: Level A - $85,555 - $116,094 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus 17% superannuation

As a Research Assistant at Phoenix Australia, you'll play a crucial role in advancing posttraumatic mental health research. You'll support various projects, including the U.S. Department of Defense funded STOP Trial, investigating the effectiveness of Silexan in treating PTSD. You'll gain invaluable experience in participant recruitment, clinical assessments, data management, and research administration while working alongside leading experts in trauma research and treatment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct Research Activities: Screen and recruit participants, administer assessments, and conduct structured clinical interviews for intervention studies.
  • Manage Data and Databases: Maintain project databases, securely track and transfer participant data, and contribute to data analysis and reporting.
  • Support Project Administration: Assist with ethics applications, attend project meetings, and contribute to manuscript preparation and conference papers.
  • Ensure Participant Wellbeing: Liaise with mental health professionals to facilitate support for study participants as needed.

You may be a great fit if: You are a dedicated professional with an undergraduate degree in psychology or a related mental health field, possessing excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment focused on posttraumatic mental health.

You may also:

  • Have completed or be working towards an Honours degree in psychology or a related mental health field.
  • Possess prior experience in health, mental health, or clinical research environments.
  • Have experience in recruiting study participants and conducting longitudinal or intervention studies.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Show enthusiasm for developing expertise in posttraumatic mental health issues.
  • Have experience with statistical programs like SPSS or R (desirable).
  • Possess knowledge of posttraumatic mental health research and clinical literature (desirable).
