Location: Oxford Internet Institute, The Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6GG
The Oxford Internet Institute – founded in 2001 - is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to the social science of the Internet.
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Research Assistant to join the project “Diversis Viis, Plurima Solvens” (DVPS), funded by the European Commission as supervised by Professor Mariarosaria Taddeo.
The position is full-time and fixed term for 6 months with possibility of extension, with an aim to start as soon as possible. You will be based in Oxford but there may be the opportunity for occasional remote working.
The research assistant will work with a team of experts to undertake research and contribute to draft a resulting article. We are looking for a candidate with a background in any of these research areas: digital ethics, governance of emerging technology and law, the ethics/governance of cybersecurity, the ethics/governance of AI.
Main duties include undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews, writing up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and gathering, analysing and presenting data from a variety of sources.
The ideal candidate must hold a first degree, together with relevant experience in one or more of the following: digital ethics, governance of emerging technology and law, the ethics/governance of cybersecurity, the ethics/governance of blockchain and crypto. They will have excellent written, verbal and data presentation skills.
