Base salary will be in the range $115,645 - $129,654 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Research Project Manager to support the establishment and delivery of a major new national, multidisciplinary study co-designed with women who have lived experience of menopausal symptoms. This landmark collaborative initiative will improve health literacy, clinical care, workplace policies, and social supports for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause.

This role is critical to the operational success of the study, providing high-level coordination across diverse stakeholders, supporting the development of research instruments, and managing complex recruitment and engagement strategies. The successful candidate will bring experience in large-scale project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and research data collection methods, along with a proactive and collaborative approach to team leadership.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with multiple Chief Investigators and non-government partners, ensuring collaboration and alignment with project goals across academic, clinical, industry, and consumer groups.
  • Lead the co-design and refinement of high-quality surveys and research instruments in consultation with diverse stakeholders, ensuring cultural appropriateness, clarity, and methodological rigour.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of robust data collection processes, ensuring consistency, privacy compliance, and high-quality data across multiple sites and methods.
  • Design and manage a national recruitment strategy that reflects the project’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, with particular focus on engaging women from varied backgrounds and lived experiences.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of this large-scale national research project, ensuring milestones are met, risks are managed, and all activities are delivered to a high standard and on schedule.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive project documentation, progress reports, and updates for internal and external stakeholders, including funding bodies and partner organisations.

About You

  • A postgraduate qualification (or progress towards) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating large-scale, multidisciplinary research projects, including development of recruitment strategies and coordination of diverse stakeholder groups (e.g. Chief Investigators, non-government organisations, consumers).
  • Experience in managing, mentoring, or supporting other research or technical staff is desirable.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, including community partners, academic collaborators, industry, and government representatives.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and implementing online surveys and research instruments, with a sound understanding of data collection protocols, including linked data processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex research content into clear, concise materials for both academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Knowledge and understanding of women’s health issues, particularly in relation to perimenopause and menopause, and a demonstrated commitment to health equity and inclusive research practices.
