Residence Life Coordinator
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) for Rutgers Residence Life. This position reports to the Associate Director of Residential Communities for two of four campuses and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, activities and services for 400 to 1500 students living in residence halls and/or apartments.
Key Duties:
- Supervises undergraduate and/or graduate staff.
- Develops a team that will implement all the activities, programs and services needed to create inclusive communities that reflect the mission and goals of Residence Life.
- Responds effectively and efficiently to resident concerns, and works with colleagues from Residence Life and Housing to address facilities related issues.
- Advises and develops students involved with hall government, living learning community peer mentors, and in-hall student leaders with an emphasis on empowerment and leadership development.
- Supports the daily operations of Residence Life and the fostering of a unique campus culture.
- Participates in campus based, departmental, and divisional trainings and is responsible for the evaluation of student staff.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in student affairs administration, higher education, or a closely related field. Two (2) years of graduate and/or professional experience working in residence life.
