RF Staff Associate
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), the on-campus representative of the Research Foundation for SUNY (RF) at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full-time RF Staff Associate.
While this position is affiliated with the campus of SUNY Oswego, this is a Research Foundation position, not a New York State position.
The Research Foundation for the State University of New York is not an agency or instrumentality of the State of New York. Employees of the Research Foundation for the State University of New York are not state employees, do not participate in any state retirement system, and do not receive state fringe benefits. The Research Foundation for the State University of New York operates under a contract with The State University of New York and receives no directly appropriated state funding.

Description of Responsibilities:
The new staff associate will assist with processing grant/contract expenditures and budget modifications; review assigned accounts for appropriateness of expenditures and maintain an accurate record of all activity for those accounts; work with project directors to ensure expenditures meet Research Foundation guidelines as well as sponsor, state, and federal guidelines; prepare fiscal reports for internal and external purposes as required; respond to audit requests; coordinate cost-share and effort reports; and provide training for principal investigators or project directors on reporting requirements and software related to grants/contracts.

Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work within Microsoft Office suite and other software;
- Familiarity with reading and implementing grant and contract guidelines;
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated with strong organization, communication and analytical skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to develop and manage budgets;
- Service-oriented individual with the ability and desire to work within a team approach and excel in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment;
- Ability to consistently multitask, solve problems, and work flexibly to ensure success and provide support to colleagues as necessary;
- Three (3) years of related work experience;
- Earned bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Earned bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration;
- Five (5) years of related work experience.
