About the Role

We are seeking an innovative, motivated, and experienced Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy to join the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

This key academic role involves delivering high-quality research, innovative teaching, and academic leadership. Responsibilities include developing and presenting engaging course content, assessments, and creative teaching methods.

The role also supports curriculum development, academic administration, and staff mentoring. Collaboration across programs or Colleges may be required. A key focus is strengthening partnerships and building new collaborations with external stakeholders.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be enthusiastic, relational and flexible. You will be a registered Occupational Therapist with Ahpra, a member of Occupational Therapy Australia and have extensive clinical and tertiary teaching experience. You will bring a strong record of excellence in tertiary teaching, including topic coordination, curriculum development, and innovative learning approaches.

Your experience in supervising honours and postgraduate research students will be supported by a robust research profile, aligned with the Caring Futures Institute’s priorities. This includes consistent high-quality publications, senior authorship, and success in attracting competitive research funding.

You will have a solid understanding of the connection between teaching, research, and professional practice and commitment to cultural responsiveness, enhancing educational opportunities and positive health experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check which is satisfactory to the University will also be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
  • In addition, it is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working with Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
  • Staff working in a health care setting are strongly recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the SA Health policy.
