Hiring Wage/Salary Range
$22.00-$23.00
Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- Must meet 19-A qualifications.
- Must submit and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Must have at least three years of driving experience.
- Employment is contingent upon completing a thorough background check, including employment history and a criminal record check.
- Pre-employment and continued random drug screening will be required.
- Must complete recertification requirements as needed.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with two-way radio communications.
- Experience with productivity applications (e.g. MS Office, Concur, EMS, CMS, and Google) to include: collecting, updating, formatting and organizing moderately complex data such as sorts, filters, charts, pivot tables, all basic to intermediate level formulae, table of content formatting, mail merges, track changes, and other similar features.
- Schedule flexibility and ability to work various events during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Certifications
- A current valid driver's license, in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy is required.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class C in good standing with P endorsement (required); having P and S endorsements is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to:
- Sit for extended periods.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry tools, objects, or equipment above shoulder level without assistance.
- Climb stairs.
- Reach above head and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, as well as standing for extended durations. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds daily to fulfill work-related responsibilities.

Accountabilities
This role is 50% in-office administrative work and 50% driving duties.
Shuttle (Cruiser) Driver
- Drive and operate a shuttle, bus, or van to safely and courteously transport passengers around campus and throughout the Village of Hamilton.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic regulations while following and enforcing safety procedures.
- Follow emergency procedures, including for mechanical failures, accidents, and medical emergencies.
- Operate vehicles while adhering to University policies and procedures.
- Conduct vehicle inspections as required by department policy and DOT regulations.
- Operate vehicle communication systems within the guidelines of University policies.
- Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations regarding the operation of commercial vehicles.
- Clean and fuel shuttle, bus, or van as part of daily duties and as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain scheduled routes to establish time and mileage. Immediately notify the supervisor of changes/delays.
- Record and report incidents/problems through appropriate procedures established by the department, including accidents and mechanical concerns.
- Provide information to students, faculty, and staff members regarding the shuttle service program.
- Attend all required University, federal, and state regulatory in-service trainings and meetings.
- Maintain CDL and all applicable certifications and endorsements (including regular physicals, recertification training, and examinations).
- May occasionally take on dual roles, which include driving the bus/shuttle and handling dispatch duties, such as answering phones and coordinating schedules, as needed to support departmental requirements.
- Additional opportunities may include outings and on-demand trips outside of shuttle hours, providing transportation to and from (including but not limited to) the Utica and Syracuse bus and train stations, as well as Syracuse airport.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Administrative Department Coordinator
- Responsibilities include the coordination of the daily operations of the department.
- Specific accountabilities include: greet visitors and ensure reception area creates a welcoming environment; ensure efficient execution of administrative procedures and processes central to the department; respond in a timely manner to requests for information and refer to other resources as appropriate; manage calendars, itineraries, contacts and correspondence of department; coordinate with vendors and service providers; assist with onboarding new employees; and maintain adequate office supplies and other material required for the operation of the department, which may include researching services and pricing, processing quotes, creating PO's and requisitions and submitting for timely payment.
- Maintain department records, research information, analyze data, prepare reports, edit and format documents and presentations, and produce standard reports.
- Responsible for departmental communication to include: website maintenance, newsletters, posters, invitations, etc.
- Responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of department events and functions, including travel arrangements.
- Monitor departmental budgets and report on status, variances, and potential issues.
- Responsible for building and/or room scheduling and service requests, as required.
- Coordinate work and/or schedules of student or casual wage employees, as assigned, including processing web time entry.
- May be responsible for the timely and efficient execution of special projects, additional activities, committees and other work unique to the department, division or function, as assigned.
