POSITION: Simulation Technology Program Instructor (Temporary) (2 Vacancies)
Description of Duties: Responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on instruction in simulation technology and supporting the implementation of workforce training aligned with industry needs in aerospace, defense, and healthcare. This role supports the mission of Rose State College's Workforce Development department through education, technical training, and community engagement. * This position is contingent upon the availability of external and/or grant funding. Provide direct instruction to students in the Simulation Technology A.A.S. degree program and micro-credential pathways, ensuring curriculum reflects current industry standards. Teach simulation system maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting-converting electronics, integration, and diagnostic tools-in both classroom and lab settings. Develop and maintain instructional materials using Canvas and other educational technologies to support diverse learning modalities. Facilitate hands-on, experiential learning using flight simulators, healthcare simulation equipment, and associated software systems. Engage in curriculum design, development, and continuous improvement aligned with workforce demands and industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+). Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to lead short-term training workshops (1-2 days) for incumbent workers and professionals.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in electronics, information technology, simulation technology, or equivalent and 2 years of related experience. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel). Hands-on experience with simulation systems in aerospace, defense, or healthcare required. Strong technical knowledge of electronic systems, simulation maintenance, and diagnostic tools. Effective oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with instructional platforms like Canvas and commitment to student success.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in simulation technology, engineering technology, or a related field. Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+). Teaching or training experience in a technical or vocational setting. Experience delivering hands-on workshops or short-term training. Strong troubleshooting, system integration, and simulator operations expertise. Ability to engage with industry partners and adapt training to employer needs.
