The Opportunity:
Washington State University Tri Cities is now accepting applications for a Site Manager at Mountain View High School, in Vancouver, WA. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and direct support of the WSU Tri-Cities- Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) project at this designated high school. You will coordinate and provide services to a cohort of approximately 150-799 students, manage an operating budget, and supervise administrative professional and temporary/hourly staff. You will represent Washington State University as the primary liaison to the partner school and their community, implementing GEAR UP goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, university, and grant regulations.
Site Manager duties include but are not limited to: providing direct services to students; planning, preparation and leadership participation of group activities and workshops; coordinating and communicating with school administrators, teachers, staff, parents, students, colleges, community members, organizations, and businesses; providing local leadership in program development and evaluation. This role also provides support to key program components, including tutor training and supervision, career exploration, and post-secondary preparation.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible. This position is on-site/in person located in Vancouver, WA.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on September 29, 2027.
Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $4,628.12
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position.

Required Qualifications:
- Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Three (3) years of relevant full-time, professional experience working directly with middle/high school students, and/or experience working with students in higher education setting.
- Experience working with parents/adults in individual or group setting.
- Knowledge of community, educational and social service resources in the district's community.
- Demonstrated experience in promoting the success and achievement of students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds.
- Ability to be self directed and demonstrate effective communication, team building, creative problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including frequent nights and weekends, with some occasions with supervisory responsibility of students.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software programs Excel, Outlook and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with tutoring, academic, and counseling programming.
- Experience supervising subordinate staff.
- Experience managing a government grant program in a middle or high school setting.
- Experience developing and managing a budget.
- Experience coordinating events and field trips for students.
- Experience working with college readiness programs.
- Professional first-hand experience motivating students of low-income or disadvantaged youth.
- Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Spanish.
