Performs advanced financial analysis, auditing and accounting for college-wide Accounts Receivable operations.
Flexible Work Arrangement
Primarily Remote: Employee performs the majority of job duties remotely and may occasionally work on site, based on operational needs with advance notice, when possible.

Salary Range: $38,654 per year
Description of Job Function
- Monitors, audits and reconciles, and prepares reports for accounts assigned to the position.
- Audits and processes all credit refunds due students and vendors.
- Answers direct calls and in person interviews from students, parents, and vendors pertaining to the Accounts Receivable operational programs.
- Follows all State statutes, College policies and procedures, and accounting principles and practices related with the position.
- Provides support to other departments to maintain an accurate accounts receivable records.
- Reviews all original documentation for authenticity and accuracy for processing.
- Analyzes past due account balances and initiates contact with the customer.
- Responsible for following proper audit procedures and maintaining necessary documentation for to support compliance and to provide external and internal auditors.
- Interacts with financial aid, registration, and admissions in order to create a well-established student information record.
- Administer the college tuition installment plan (TIPs) deferred payment program including verification of participants, monitoring daily contract activity, and calculating refunds.
- Manage the Florida Prepaid Program including processing FTP file transfers to the State, exception analysis, invoice process, and telephone support.
- Assists Bursar with account deletions and course re-registrations for unpaid accounts.
- Creates queries and ad hoc reports from multiple software applications.
- Maintains marketing materials and e-mail notification for each term.
- Process all Title IV financial aid overpayments. Updates student records for those referred to the Department of Education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Other Required Qualifications
Must be granted security access to the Conserve Collections Portal (Cannot be in default with Valencia College; this applies to all types of financial obligations).
Preferred Education & Field of Study
Associate's degree in accounting or finance related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Type of Experience
Progressively responsible accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge of State and College rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Word, and Access).
Demonstrates ability to access, input, retrieve, analyze, and report information from multiple software applications.
Skilled in interpersonal communications and critical thinking.
Ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to accurately handle tasks and provide customer service simultaneously.
Ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally charged situations.
General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
