Student Accounts Specialist, Bursar's Office
Position Details
The Bursar's Office at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Student Accounts Specialist to assist students, parents and third party billing in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Bursar and assist the Assistant Bursar as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist students and families with interpreting accurate tuition and fee structure, audit rates, room and board rates.
- Counsel students and families on payments, withdraw and refund policies, as well as give detailed explanations on the University's payment plan.
- Interpret the student's financial aid package and articulate how the financial aid affects the student's account.
- Serve as a liaison for outside billing agencies in regard to student account receivables.
- Serve as a liaison between Financial Aid and ROTC programs to ensure scholarship recipients are processed and billed
- Process and record Faculty Staff Grant waivers to student accounts
- Process Tuition Prepaid billing for various States
- Assist with auditing student accounts during all phases of the registration process.
- Assist as needed with collection process of past due accounts.
- Other related administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Three (3) years of billing and receivables required.
- Working knowledge of automatic accounting systems & personal computing tools required.
- Experience in a university environment is preferred.
- Ability to learn new software as needed.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills are needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
- Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer - Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Evenings and weekends as needed.
