Specialist - Admissions
Responsible for outreach activities aimed at recruiting individuals to enroll at Harper College. This role will focus on recruitment of high school students, including meeting with prospective students and applicants in-person, over the phone, virtually, or at their high school. They will also support admissions events on and off campus, during the day, in the evening, and the occasional weekend.
Starting pay for this role may not exceed the minimum salary listed.

Characteristic Duties:
- Meet recruitment objectives and assist in the enrollment goals as established by Harper College, the Director of Admissions Outreach and the Admissions Manager
- Integrate and explain policies and procedures of all areas of enrollment services and other closely related areas to all new students. Be able to anticipate students' needs by considering all aspects of the enrollment cycle. This position will be providing this level of service in person, over the phone and over email.
- Works with students throughout the enrollment process and reviews information regarding career opportunities, program of study, placement, orientation and financial assistance.
- Assists students in understanding their financial obligations and educating them on how Harper College, federal, state and third-party resources can provide assistance.
- Utilizes critical thinking, problem solving and experience with student issues to be proactive in addressing potential student concerns, identifying potential barriers within the student enrollment process and initiating steps resulting in resolution.
- Makes referrals to faculty, counselors, program coordinators, campus support services, or other resources as needed.
- Collaborates closely with key Harper College departments including the Academic Affairs, Admissions Processing, Counseling, One Stop and Financial Aid to ensure effective student enrollment matriculation.
- Participates and attends all scheduled events. Provides post information session report within 24 hours of event completion.
- Reviews and provides feedback to Admissions Manager and Marketing Services on all pertinent promotional material and presentations.
- Provides critical summary reports on all activities including student inquiries, applications, information meetings, and event results.
- Serves on appropriate College committees.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions Outreach and Processing.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Must occasionally lift boxes of materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Regularly transport materials to off-campus events and activities. Must set up equipment and materials at both on and off campus events. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Equipment Utilized/Tools Used:
Requires use of standard office equipment, knowledge and use of prospect management software, use of recruiting signs and displays, use of laptops and portable projection equipment.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, communication or related field required.
Experience:
2+ years experience in student services, college admissions, educational recruiting or sales. Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail essential. Must possess strong presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills.
