Job Description:
SUNY Broome's Admissions Department is seeking candidates for a part-time Staff Assistant reporting to the Director of Admissions, and/or the Enrollment Management Coordinator, as needed. This position is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours. This is a versatile role which may include supporting enrollment and admissions efforts across departments with the goal of attracting, enrolling and retaining prospective students.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists in managing the official SUNY Broome Admissions email correspondence, phone calls, and the "Welcome Center" desk.
- Assists with the general operations of Admissions, including but not limited to: reviewing applications and other forms specific to the department and traveling to events.
- Meeting with potential students and their families.
- Collecting data and preparing reports, mass student communications.
- Assistance with workshops, seminars, and orientation.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or Associate's degree with the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Banner and Slate experience preferred.
- Additional training and education in the applicable field is desirable.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Additional Information:
The hourly rate for this position is $26.24.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
