Student Aide - Wojcik Conference Center Front Desk
General Function:
- Be polite and helpful by assisting and greeting community, students, event participants and staff that enter building W.
- As a member of the Welcome Desk Team you will be staffing the front desk in the Wojcik Conference Center lobby. Your main function is to greet people (say "hello," "good morning," or "hi, how can I help you") as they walk into building W and be helpful to anyone who needs assistance. Most inquiries at the Welcome Desk are looking for directions to a different part of campus - mostly One Stop and Testing Center in Building A, the ESL Office in Building D, and Community Education classrooms. In most cases, it will be your job to walk the person(s) to where they need to go.
- Secondary to your main function above, you will also be assisting the Wojcik Conference Center event staff with event coordination needs.
- Be on time for your scheduled hours of work.
- Greet people (say "hello," "good morning," or "hi, can I help you" etc.)
- Be responsive to Welcome Desk inquiries.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all appearance, language, communication.
- Be helpful and respectful to coworkers, colleagues, and clients.
- Refrain from participating in, or contributing to, office gossip.
- Exercise confidentiality with clients and colleagues.
You must be a Harper student, enrolled in at least six credits during the fall and spring semesters and three credits during the summer semesters.
