Student Support Services (SSS) Director
Broad Function/Job Summary: Plan, direct, and implement all TRIO/Student Support Services program grant activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop programs/services/activities to promote retention and graduation rates among program participants.
- Recruit, select, and supervise project staff.
- Ensure that the project meets all grant obligations in a timely manner.
- Manage federal government funds and monitor SSS budget.
- Report on project accomplishment and complete all necessary evaluations and annual reports.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree in Education and Administration, Psychology, Youth Administration, Leadership Studies or related area. Three years progressive experience in teaching, counseling, or administration in a secondary or post-secondary setting.
- Experience with federal grant program preferred.
- Experience working with students from a diverse background who are either low-income or potential first-generation college students.
- Preference given to individuals who have succeeded in overcoming the disadvantages of circumstances like those of the target area’s population.
FLSA Status & Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time, regular, 12-month, exempt position.
- Attendance is required.
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
