Essential Job Duties:
The Technology Support Analyst provides Tier II application and system support for enterprise technologies within the SAT domain, including access control, audio, video, and voice systems. This role serves as a subject matter expert in end-user configuration, ensuring reliable system performance and effective integration across supported services.
The position supports application configuration, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for a range of technical systems, utilizing networking knowledge and specialized tools to resolve issues and maintain system functionality. Working both independently and collaboratively, the analyst plays a key role in supporting operational needs and ensuring consistent, high-quality technology services.
Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies. The ideal candidate works effectively both independently and as part of a team, communicates technical concepts clearly, and approaches challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.

Minimum Experience/Education:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Working knowledge of basic structured cabling to include low voltage and data cabling installation and termination.
- Working knowledge of how to use trade tools to include a variety of network test meters and multi-meters.
- Familiarity with network switch configuration.
- Knowledge of virtual networking and networking concepts.
- Understanding of IP configuration, web client access for testing purposes.
- Knowledge of use of laptop or mobile device to connect to field IP device.
- Ability to work independently to resolve routine problems.
- Familiarity with performing limited diagnostics on assigned hardware and software.
- Capable of using various technical tools in support of diagnostics.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex issues for problem resolution.
- Capable of learning various manufacturers' device nuances, configuration requirements and understanding how these configurations are applied to installation and integration with NC State security network.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of structured cabling, including low voltage and data cabling installation and termination.
- Experience using technical tools such as network test meters, multi-meters, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with network configuration concepts, including network switches, IP configuration, virtual networking, and web-based device access.
- Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostics on hardware and software systems and to learn and apply manufacturer-specific configuration requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and work independently to resolve routine problems.
