About The Team
The Primary Care team is made up of eight veterinarians and six veterinary nurses, delivering a comprehensive range of small animal services similar to any general practice vet. With the added advantage of internal referrals for more specialised care when needed, the team offers health checks, vaccinations, preventative health care, sterilisation, surgery, dietary advice, dentistry in a dedicated suite, diagnostic imaging (including radiography, ultrasound, CT and MRI), in-house laboratory testing, consultations for various health conditions, and ongoing management of illness or injury.
Your New Role!
This role involves delivering high quality veterinary care to both scheduled and walk-in patients in Primary Care, advising other staff on Primary Care matters, performing routine surgical procedures, and providing support and training to students and veterinary nurses within the Primary Care team.
Your key responsibilities will include –
Provide high quality veterinary care to structured and walk-in Primary Care cases.
Manage workflow efficiently and autonomously within the department and ensure all necessary duties are completed in a timely manner.
Communicate directly with TAHMU clients to ensure they are fully informed of prescribed treatments and costs.

This Fixed Term (12 Months) | Part time (18 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $114,385– $130,908 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia.
A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a veterinary practice, post qualification. Murdoch University Date Approved 30 March 2021
Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated capability and willingness to interact constructively with staff at all levels of an organisation.
Excellent organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
Demonstrated computer literacy (including, familiarity with the MS Office suite of programmes).
