Visiting Assistant Professor in Architectural Design and Representation
The Hammons School of Architecture (HSA) at Drury University invites applications and nominations for a Visiting Assistant Professor in architectural design and representation. This is a full-time, one year appointment beginning in August 2026, with potential for reappointment.
HSA seeks talented emerging scholars whose architectural pedagogy, discourse, and practice through technological innovation in design. In particular, those who investigate issues of representation, modeling, making, process, and/or analytics, including – but not limited to – advanced representation, simulation, artificial intelligence, material studies and emerging technologies. This position is designed for promising early-career faculty candidates who look to advance their teaching and scholarship and to join a dedicated faculty of mentors and teachers. The successful candidate will receive the same consideration for faculty development funds that tenure-track and tenured faculty receive.
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in architecture and should have an articulated line of inquiry with the potential to advance disciplinary knowledge. The successful individual will teach design studios and core or seminar courses and engage in research related to their areas of expertise.
HSA offers a NAAB-accredited, first-professional M.Arch degree in the context of a small private liberal arts university. The school has a historical and ongoing commitment to providing exemplary professional preparation within a broad and interdisciplinary curriculum recognized for fostering critical thinking and skilled stewardship. All HSA students study abroad, participate in professional internships, and attain minors and/or certificates that construct an individualized path through a uniquely interconnected program.
