Visiting Assistant Professor Public Administration
Job Summary
Reporting to the department chair, the Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Administration will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Public Administration, Public Policy, and/or Nonprofit Management. This is an academic year 2026-2027 appointment for the months of August 2026-May 2027 with an expected 5/5 teaching load. All visiting positions are non-tenure track appointments. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate (PhD, DPA) in Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Affairs, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Public Administration by August 1, 2026.
- Qualifications to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Public Management, Public Policy, and/or Nonprofit Management.
- Technology literacy and a commitment to integrate technology into teaching.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior college-level teaching experience with evidence of effective and student-centered instructional practices.
- Experience with the development and delivery of academic courses in both online and traditional modalities.
- Previous practitioner experience in government and/or nonprofit sectors is desirable.
