Admission Specialist
Job Description Summary:
The Admission Specialist is responsible for prospective student outreach. This position will work with traditional undergraduate students, transfer students, and graduate students. The incumbent will be responsible for working with new applicants on application completion and entering application data into the student information system.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience making high volume phone calls.
- Customer service experience.
- Customer Relationship Management Software knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
Specific Duties:
Duty: Student Communication and Support:
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, text message and in-person regarding admission requirements.
- Enter event inquiry data into CRM system.
- Guide prospective students through the application process and required documentation.
- Schedule prospective student meetings with admission counselors.
Percentage of Time: 35%
Duty: Application Processing and Review:
- Process and review incoming applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Verify transcripts, test scores, and supporting documents meet admission requirements.
- Enter application data into CRM system and maintain accurate records.
- Follow up with incomplete applicants for missing materials.
Percentage of Time: 25%
Duty: Administrative Support:
- Prepare admission decision packets for all populations (undergraduate, graduate, and regional and online campuses).
- Maintain filing system for application materials and admission records.
- Generate reports for EM leadership on new inquiry contact, completed applications, and application completion.
- Support admission counselors with research, presentation materials, and event planning.
Percentage of Time: 15%
Duty: Customer Service:
- Serve as initial point of contact for prospective students and families.
- Provide general information about academic programs, campus life, and admission timelines.
- Direct complex inquiries to appropriate admission counselors or departments.
- Maintain professional and welcoming demeanor in all interactions.
Percentage of Time: 10%
- Periodically assist with on the road recruitment activities as directed by Enrollment Management Leadership. This includes, but is not limited to, high school visits, community college visits, grad fairs, and off campus family meetings.
Percentage of Time: 10%
- Other duties as assigned by Enrollment Management Leadership.
Percentage of Time: 5%
Salary Range
Maximum: $23.25
Minimum: $21.86
