Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is a charter public school that serves students in grades 6-12. CCSC’s Alumni Persistence Program, launched as a small-scale pilot in the 2022-2023 school year, supports our graduates in college and career as they work toward sustained financial independence and security. We are hiring our first full-time manager for the program, which currently provides CCSC alumni with one-on-one coaching and guidance, resources, and emergency funding to support their academic and social success after high school.

The Alumni Success Manager is a 12-month, salaried position and will sit on CCSC’s College and Career Counseling Team. The person in this role can expect to:

  • Plan, grow, and facilitate CCSC’s Alumni Persistence Program
  • Develop and monitor program goals
  • Compile and track qualitative and quantitative post-secondary success metrics (educational achievement, financial aid attainment, college and career persistence, etc.)
  • Report on program progress to stakeholders (Board, fundraising team, donors, etc.) and champion the work to the broader community
  • Support the development team by providing stories, data, and other collateral to help in fundraising efforts
  • Build and maintain supportive and success-driven relationships with alumni
  • Build trusting relationships with all members of the senior class annually, primarily through co-leadership of Senior Seminar
  • Recruit and support a network of volunteer Alumni Coaches
  • Provide guidance and accountability for frequency and topics of communication with alumni
  • Ensure thorough communication tracking
  • Assist coaches in identifying and providing support to alumni facing challenges, identifying solutions and taking over as point person when necessary
  • Ensure that coaches support alumni with the financial aid renewal process
  • Directly coach a caseload of alumni and regularly visit alumni at colleges / universities, helping them learn to navigate supports and systems
  • Support alumni with job seeking, including securing internships during college
  • Build relationships with campus resource offices
  • Manage alumni communication (e.g., social media, online newsletters, and direct mail) and engagement work (including planning events for alumni to maintain connections with CCSC staff, current students, and each other)
  • Chair the Alumni Emergency Persistence Fund ad hoc committee

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the post-secondary and financial aid application processes
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork, organization, communication, and group facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the post-secondary landscape, including 4-year and 2-year colleges and universities, trade and vocational programs
  • Facility with social networking applications and Google Apps
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to drive to colleges / universities within a day drive (mileage to be reimbursed at the IRS rate)
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with some travel and frequent evening / weekend work
  • Experience with Naviance Alumni Tracker preferred

Compensation: $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience
