Salary Range: Up to $85,000 annualized with flexibility, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Job Summary: The University of Texas at San Antonio's Advancement & Alumni Engagement division is dedicated to building meaningful connections that strengthen the university community. Within this division, the Office of Alumni Engagement fosters lifelong relationships with UTSA alumni through innovative programming, volunteer opportunities, and strategic partnerships. This position will play a key role in advancing these efforts and expanding engagement opportunities for alumni and friends of the university. To serve as the primary relationship manager for strategic partnerships within the UTSA Alumni Office. Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating sponsorship, partnership, and fundraising strategies that support alumni engagement programs and events. Identifies and cultivates new revenue-generating opportunities, strengthens existing partnerships through tailored engagement, and collaborates with internal teams to advance alumni relations goals.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of strategic partnerships within the UTSA Alumni Office.
  2. Lead the annual development and execution of a comprehensive strategy focused on sponsorships, partnerships, and fundraising to support alumni engagement programs, events, and initiatives.
  3. Consistently meet or exceed established goals for partner visits and fundraising outcomes.
  4. Develop and implement long-term strategies to advance partnerships along an engagement continuum through coordinated and meaningful opportunities.
  5. Maintain and strengthen strategic relationships with corporate partners by providing tailored engagement, recognition, and reporting that align with organizational objectives and encourage sustained support.
  6. Identify, research, and cultivate new revenue-generating partnerships and programs in alignment with industry best practices.
  7. Collaborate with Alumni Relations staff to support events and programs hosted by the Alumni Association, as needed and in accordance with strategic direction from leadership.
  8. Deliver exceptional customer service and outreach to both internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Accurately document all interactions and strategic plans in the constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
  10. Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Five years of progressively responsible experience in alumni relations, corporate sponsorships, development, or related fields. Up to two years of additional education may be substituted for experience on a one-for-one basis. This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional development experience securing private support for a university or service organization. Experience in collaborating with a team involving different phases of advancement or similar activities including communications, special events and alumni relations. Experience working with advisory council members and other volunteers. Knowledge of information systems, preferably Raisers Edge. Experience in Microsoft Office or 360.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of strategic partnerships, including developing cultivation and stewardship strategies that result in sustained engagement and financial support. Proven ability to meet or exceed measurable goals related to partner visits, sponsorship acquisition, and fundraising outcomes. Experience designing and implementing comprehensive partnership strategies that align with the organizational goals and industry best practices. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders, including corporate partners, alumni, donors, and internal teams. Sophisticated communicator with an ability to influence decision makers. Highly responsible, self-motivated, and exceptional attention to detail. Experience with constituent relationship management databases.

Additional Information: UTSA is a tobacco free campus. This is a security sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.

Working Conditions: Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.

Physical Demands: Walking and standing - occasionally. Bending and stooping - occasionally. Lifting and exerts up to 10 lbs. of force - occasionally. Typing/texting - routinely. Phone - make and answer calls and messages - frequently.

This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
