The Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology invites applications for a 12-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor of Counseling to begin as early as Fall 2026. The primary responsibility of the clinical assistant professor will be to serve as director of the department's on-campus counseling and training clinic. Additionally, this individual will be expected to engage in community outreach initiatives, teach master's level courses, advise students, seek external funding for clinic activities, and participate in program development. The department offers the following CACREP-accredited programs: master's in clinical mental health counseling, marriage, couple, and family counseling, school counseling, and addictions counseling, as well as a doctoral program in Counselor Education. In addition, the department recently launched an online master's program with a focus on Hispanic Mental Health. In 2020, the department was named the SACES Outstanding Master's Level Program.

Required Qualifications:
- A doctorate in counselor education. Advanced ABD will be considered, degree must be conferred by the time of appointment.
- Licensure or licensure-eligibility as a Texas professional counselor (LPC) or marriage and family therapist (LMFT) at time of employment.
- Three or more years of post-graduate experience as a professional counselor.
- Clinical supervision experience.
- Professional identity, experience, and training in one of the counseling specialty areas offered by the department.
- Experience with community engagement and outreach initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Conversant in both English and Spanish.
- Experience attracting extramural funding.
- Membership and involvement in professional counseling organizations.
- Graduate teaching experience.
- Credentialed as an LPC-supervisor.
- Experience working with varied student populations.
