Assistant Professor Psychology (Clinical/Counseling)

The Department of Psychological Science in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 1, 2026. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

The Department of Psychological Science is housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences degree in psychology. The department also has an online Bachelor of Psychology program and offers a minor in psychology. The department serves 600 majors and 150 minors. RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching a 4/4 load during the academic year (Fall and Spring); maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited university by appointment date
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience with assessment-related activities (program-level or course-level) and implementation of APA Guidelines for the Undergraduate Psychology Major highly desirable.
  • Face-to-Face classroom teaching experience and previous online teaching are desirable.
  • Area of specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Personality, and Clinical Psychology
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting
  • A record of mentoring students
