Primary Purpose of the Position:

The primary purpose of the Assistant Director for Living-Learning Communities position is to provide dedicated leadership, coordination, and assessment for WSSU's Living-Learning Communities. This role ensures that academic and residential experiences are intentionally aligned to support student success, engagement, and retention. The position collaborates with faculty and campus partners, supports Resident Advisors assigned to LLCs, manages communication and promotion of LLC programs, and oversees data-driven assessment to evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes.

Preferred Years Experience,Skills, Training , Education:

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with faculty, staff, and campus stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of residential life operations, student success strategies, and high-impact educational practices
  • Skill in promoting programs to students, families, and partners through multiple communication channels
