Assistant Director of Operations, Student Financial Services
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Operations, Student Financial Services will oversee operations staff and monitor delivery of aid and system integrity. This role also assists with setting vision and goals within operations and the department. The Assistant Director also performs reconciliations and data analysis.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with department leadership to set vision and goals for operations staff; identifies priorities and creates methods for accessing and using data available through university software and other resources
- Collaborates with department leadership to determine system enhancements; monitors system integrity and quality control; participates in the testing and implementation of student information systems related to all student financial transactions and sources; makes recommendations of policy changes and process improvements in line with University, division and department strategic plans; ensures of compliance with federal, state, and other partner regulations
- Responsible for daily supervision of operations staff to ensure quality development, enhancement, and maintenance of automated system processes; assists with staff training, assessment, and innovation efforts; acts as contact for day to day system and processing troubleshooting; and responsible for review daily, weekly, monthly variance and reconciliation reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of federal, state, and university scholarship and financial aid regulations, policies, procedures, and practices
- Knowledge of related computer system operations and processes
- Knowledge of analytical and accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of scholarship/financial aid programs, policies, procedures, and practices
- Strong data processing and web application skills
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Strong supervisory skills
- Efficient organizational/planning skills
- Ability to recognize, organize, and prioritize needs/tasks, and act accordingly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five or more years of related work experience
