Behavior Analysis Faculty Position

Florida Institute of Technology’s School of Behavior Analysis (SoBA) is seeking applicants for a teaching-track position at the assistant professor level, with a specialty in any area of behavior analysis to start as soon as possible, but no later than Fall 2026.

Requirements for all SoBA faculty positions: A Ph.D. in behavior analysis or a doctorate in psychology or education with an emphasis in behavior analysis, evidence of research productivity, and teaching experience. BCBA or BCBA-D certification is required.

The required area of behavior analytic expertise is open, but the preferred candidate will have completed formal coursework in the experimental analysis of behavior, applied behavior analysis (clinical applications, educational applications, organizational behavior management [OBM]), and conceptual analysis/philosophical underpinnings of behavior analysis. We are recruiting candidates with strong administrative and teaching skills and we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in OBM, clinical supervision, and instructional design. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct research, although an emphasis will be placed on administrative duties. This faculty position will be a member of a team that is responsible for managing a large, online graduate program. This is a 12-month position that requires some on-campus involvement.

The Assistant Professor & ABA Online Coordinator of Experiential Learning is a 12-month, teaching-track position that reports to the Director of the ABA Online Institute. Responsibilities include: Leading teams of online instructors, overseeing experiential activities (e.g., research and clinical experiences), managing the attestation process, supporting student success, and ensuring the ABA Online Institute remains in good standing with accrediting and other relevant bodies (e.g., SACSCOC, ABAI, APBA, BACB) as well as the university's assessment team (APAC).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead teams of instructors who are responsible for conducting live, online sessions with students. Duties may include managing a number of our online courses, including: course delivery, course outcome evaluations, potential academic honesty violations, and student issues/success/satisfaction. Serve as primary discussion board leader for specific courses. Assist students in need of accommodations, withdrawals, and incompletes. Calculate and enter final grades in PAWS for specific courses.
  • Provide support and be an active member of a team of Lead Instructional Managers.
  • Identify, develop, and oversee resources that support high-quality clinical experiences.
  • Complete and submit attestation forms to the BACB on behalf of ABA Online students.
  • Complete academic-related reports (e.g., APAC/WEAVE, FPE). Meet with SoBA and third-party teams to discuss findings and program adjustments. Assist the Director and the Academic Coordinator with accreditation efforts.
  • Generate a line of research that pertains to the ABA Online Institute.
  • Conduct pre-semester meetings with Instructors to review recent changes and expectations.
  • Generate a line of research that pertains to the ABA Online Institute.
  • Service: Participate in SoBA, CoPLA, and/or university-related committees/meetings.

Requirements Include:

  • Ph.D. (or Ph.D. in progress) in behavior analysis or related field with experience in behavior analysis teaching or training.
  • Maintain certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing.
  • Demonstrate mastery in the concepts and principles of behavior analysis.
  • Communicate information effectively in a clear, courteous, and timely manner to students and team members.
  • Teach effectively.
  • Facilitate student achievement of educational outcomes and maintain high student satisfaction scores.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Take initiative, self-manage, and prioritize and complete tasks independently.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canvas and PAWS.
  • Learn new technologies/programs quickly and independently (e.g., Panapto, Playposit, Slate, Workday).
  • A wired, high-speed internet connection sufficient to effectively conduct online activities.
  • Flexibility of work hours (evenings and weekend days/evenings are required).
