CBC seeks a dynamic and seasoned professional to join the Cyber Security Department as a faculty member specializing in network and information systems. This position involves teaching a range of courses related to Cyber Security, with particular emphasis on network infrastructure, digital forensics, and cryptography. The Associate Professor of Cyber Security is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality educational content that prepares students for careers in the ever-evolving field of Information Systems. They must stay current with industry trends and advancements to keep the curriculum relevant and rigorous. This role requires active participation in curriculum development and assessment, collaboration with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning, and engagement in student advising and mentorship. The faculty member will also contribute to the college community through service on committees and participation in departmental and college-wide activities.

This position reports to the Dean for Business & Computer Science. The salary range for this position is $80,024-$84,074 for a 176-day contract over the Instructional Year (Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters). Additional compensation may be available for assignment of summer quarter courses or courses taught outside of the full-time position during fall, winter and spring quarters. This position is in a hard to fill discipline eligible for additional money per MOU 002 – Hard to Fill Supplemental Pay and would receive an additional stipend of $5,950. This is not a guarantee of compensation and is subject to funding.

Relocation expenses are part of the employment offer for the successful candidate if the candidate relocates to the Tri-Cities area from outside of a 175-mile radius.

Dedication to scholarly pursuits within one's area of specialty, contributing to the academic rigor and reputation of the college. A commitment to actively contribute to the design and evaluation of learning outcomes, playing a key role in the college's efforts towards institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an institutionally accredited college or university; Two (2) years of applicable experience in networking, various operating systems, programming, and security issues; Computer literacy, including internet and other computerized resources; Ability to pass a comprehensive background check or security clearance for work with federal government and/or contractors should it be required; and Demonstrated experience or commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in professional or educational settings, particularly in relation to Hispanic and underserved communities. This includes personal and professional efforts to address challenges faced by these populations and advocate for their success.

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in English and in Spanish; Experience with Software Development; Possess security industry certifications; and College level teaching experience.
