Assistant Teaching Professor, Nursing
The School of Nursing & Health Studies at the University of Washington Bothell is hiring a full-time faculty (100% FTE) at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure track) with an anticipated start date of September 16, 2026. This position will have a 5-year appointment term with a 9-month service period with additional opportunities to teach during the summer. Positions in this title are state-funded and are promotion eligible (Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, and Teaching Professor). Appointments in these positions are renewable, with re-appointment reviews every 5 years.
Job duties include: 1) teaching seven courses over three quarters during the regular academic year, 2) teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, 3) providing excellent teaching to support and enhance learning for diverse populations, and 4) bridging theory and practice of healthcare and systems, social justice, public health, and applied practice. Our curricula and pedagogies include various formats (e.g., face-to-face, online, and hybrid) as well as experiential and global learning.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship, and service.
The base salary range for this position is $9,200 - $9,500 per month for a 9-month position, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Requirements: Must have DNP, DrPH, PhD or other doctoral degree in a relevant field, or foreign equivalent; expertise to teach across School of Nursing and Health Studies programs in health-related topics including social justice and health, health policy, health education, nursing, methods of academic inquiry, ethics, nutrition, and/or anatomy/physiology/pathology; candidates must either have, or be currently eligible for, nursing licensure in Washington State.
