As the Associate Director, Communications and Marketing (C&M) Business Partner, you will play a key leadership role supporting three high-profile areas of the University: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Business and Economics, and the Melbourne Law School. Working closely with senior executives across these teams, you will translate faculty and school priorities and strategies into coordinated communications and marketing activities.
Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE)
- FBE is one of Australia’s leading business faculties, offering undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and research programs. Home to six teaching and research-active departments, including the renowned Melbourne Institute, it has over 12,000 students and 80,000 alumni, making it one of the largest faculties at the University of Melbourne.
Faculty of Education (FoE)
- The Faculty of Education (FoE) conducts research and delivers teaching that transforms educational practice within and beyond the profession. It is home to several research centres and hubs and offers initial teacher education through its flagship Master of Teaching programme, as well as professional courses in education, intervention, wellbeing science, and evaluation. With strong partnerships across Australia’s education sector, the faculty informs best practice and helps shape national education policy.
Melbourne Law School (MLS)

What you will deliver:
As a trusted advisor, you’ll build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the respective Deans, Faculty Executive Directors, Deputy and Associate Deans, and other senior leaders, serving as the main point of contact for reputation management.
The role also oversees the integration of dedicated and shared resources across the C&M function, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery. You’ll be responsible for continuous improvement in service delivery, governance, reporting, and risk management.
A key part of your leadership will be guiding the team to take an insights-led, data-driven and outcomes-focused approach to their work, ensuring activities deliver measurable impact and support faculty and school goals.

You are an experienced communications and marketing leader with a background in higher education, education, government, business, professional services, or other large, complex organisations. Highly collaborative, you excel at building relationships and influencing at the executive level.
You bring strong strategic thinking, sound judgement and an ability to identify and maximise opportunities to enhance reputation and thought leadership. You have a proven record of setting priorities, managing competing demands and delivering results.
Thriving in complex environments, you’re comfortable leading independently while working across multiple teams. You combine a passion for strategic thinking and change management with the ability to deliver tangible outcomes that advance organisational goals.
