"Audio-Visual Technician II"

USC Auxiliary Services is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician II to provide knowledge and support for all audio-visual technology for in-person, virtual/hybrid meetings and events across the USC campus. This role involves day-to-day functions of the audiovisual department, including set-up, operation, and strike of audiovisual equipment to ensure maximum client service, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Accountabilities include:

• Providing audio-visual and multi-media technical services to faculty, staff, and students, including instructing end users on equipment operation.
• Delivering, picking up, installing, and setting up audio-visual equipment, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary modifications.
• Testing equipment for operability, maintaining security and safety standards, and operating, maintaining, or repairing equipment.
• Scheduling, coordinating, and prioritizing services and repairs.
• Operating and maintaining stages/facilities, performing minor building maintenance.
• Providing audio-visual support for events, including consulting with clients, managing streaming and production, operating equipment, and setting up environments for meetings.
• Troubleshooting and documenting issues, working independently with some supervision, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Other duties include problem analysis, being a strong team player, and advanced knowledge in audio (microphones, speakers, sound systems, digital mixers), video (Blackmagic switchers, PTZ cameras, projectors), lighting (intelligent lighting, stage lighting), and computers (PC and Mac software for streaming).

Qualifiers: Minimum education is an Associate's degree or specialized/technical training, with at least 1 year of experience in audio-visual equipment. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills are required. Participation in the DMV Pull Notice System is mandatory.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience.

The hourly rate is $30.75.
