"Casual Marketing Officer"

James Cook University is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented casual Marketing Officer to join our Domestic Marketing team. This casual role is ideal for a marketing professional with strong communication skills, digital expertise, and a proactive approach to project coordination and administrative support.

Copywriting: Develop clear, engaging, and audience-focused content for digital and print channels, aligned with JCU’s brand and strategic objectives.

Digital Marketing: Plan and execute digital campaigns across social media, email, and web platforms to support student recruitment and engagement.

Project Management: Coordinate marketing initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations are met.

Administrative Support: Assist with reporting, scheduling, procurement, and general team administration to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor campaign performance, analyse key metrics, and prepare post-campaign reports to inform future strategy.

ABOUT YOU

Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.

Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of tone, audience, and messaging.

Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g. Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, CMS).

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As a casual employee your employment will be on a casual basis, as required and there is no firm advance commitment to ongoing, regular, or an agreed pattern of work during the engagement. The casual engagement may be terminated by either party, as detailed in Clause 30, Notice Period, of the JCU Enterprise Agreement 2022. Your hours and engagement will be determined by mutual agreement between yourself and your supervisor with a maximum of up to 36.25 hours to be worked per week.
