Community Education Coordinator
Job Description
Responsible for oversight, planning and coordination for aspects of pre-service, continuing education and community education programs for families with children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Duties:
- Develops and adapts products for use in all education programs and manages and dissemination of those products.
- Conducts needs assessments and evaluations for purpose of assessing planning pre-service, continuing education and community education programs and products.
- Develops and submits proposals for funding of education activities and products.
- Develops new training products, including distance learning venues. Modifies current training curricula and materials for use in pre-service, continuing education and community education.
- Coordinates the conversion of all products present and archived publications to meet federal accessibility requirements for digital publication.
- Work closely with website coordinator to disseminate digital products including videos, podcasts, booklets, pamphlets or one page information sheets.
- Develops and disseminates monthly newsletter.
- Develops and implements dissemination plans for all products. Maintains data on dissemination of products.
- Develops reports for grants, research projects and other documents that are needed for reporting on accomplishments.
- Identifies funding sources and develops proposals for new initiatives.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned to successfully fulfil the function of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or closely related field.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months experience.
Skills:
- Skilled in educational program development and coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to develop educational products for various learners, use of multi-media strategies for educational products, and dissemination of information and materials.
- Knowledge of adult learning strategies and methodology, interdisciplinary practices, and disability issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups in planning, developing, and evaluating products.
- Skilled in grant writing and administration of grant-funded projects.

Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively. Use of a computer. Manual dexterity.
- Environmental: Standard Office Environment.
