Job Summary
The Community Relations Fellow is responsible for managing and enhancing the Office of Government & Community Relations' (GCR) digital presence. This includes proactively maintaining and updating the GCR website, its Ignite site, the myHC platform, and, most importantly, all social media accounts. The Fellow develops and publishes engaging content to promote community engagement programs, events, and resources to both on-campus and external audiences.
The Fellow will assist the director and assistant director with event scheduling and operations at the Worcester House (the College's community engagement center), and provide support to the Director on community engagement programming and initiatives. Including neighborhood, and student outreach, and the off-campus student cohort.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Digital Communications:
    • Maintain and update the GCR website, myHC platform, and social media accounts.
    • Promote engagement opportunities, events, and resources to both internal campus community and external partners.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Help maintain documentation and procedures for GCR and Worcester House.
    • Assist the Assistant Director and Director in ensuring operational consistency and transparency.
  • Program Planning & Facilitation:
    • Help plan and support GCR engagement programs, such as:
      • Holy Cross Community Engagement Assessment & Planning Committee
      • Annual Community Partner Appreciation Reception
      • Student Groups
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with other campus programs (Community-Based Learning, SPUD, Athletics) to maximize community engagement.
  • Data & Reporting:
    • Support the Director by gathering and preparing data:
      • student service data for the annual Student Service Data Report
      • analyzes social media analytics and website metrics to assess traffic and engagement levels, and uses this information to refine content and outreach strategies. Support the and the Community Impact Report.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with community relations and or engagement as an undergraduate or through service or civic experience.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in content creation, audience engagement, analytics, and community building

Additional information:
This is a full time, exempt level position with a salary of $45,000. This is a two year temporary opportunity, which will run through June 30, 2027. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff, including:
