Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Consultant, Request Design & Automation to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.

The Consultant, Request Design & Automation position is a key role in the DBS Service Management Office (SMO). The role will work with business stakeholders and technical teams ensuring that business needs are delivered in the Service Management tool.

Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services. 

DBS embraces digital transformation as being fundamental to the delivery on the QUT Digital Strategy to enabling QUT’s aspirations outlined in the QUT Connections Strategy.

The Service Management Support team provides support for the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Service Management tool for use by support teams within DBS and the wider QUT Service Management community.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in Information Technology or a related field with subsequent relevant experience. 
  2. Demonstrated expertise in process review, analysis, and implementation of improvements, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organisational goals. 
  3. Demonstrated expertise creating and maintaining integrations using languages such as JavaScript and/or Powershell. 
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex issues, manage conflicts, and negotiate outcomes in a dynamic and high-demand technological environment. 
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly in both written and verbal formats and to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. 
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a client-focused team, contributing technical expertise and actively participating in group decision-making processes.
