The Coordinator of Programs and Outreach will lead initiatives that foster an environment that enhances student success holistically and ensures connectivity across our campus. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our commitment to retention and belonging, while implementing effective strategies that align with our values.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate institution-wide campus events that promote engagement and community involvement.
- Develop and manage the budget for programs and events, ensuring effective financial planning and allocation.
- Provide coaching and support to departments and leaders on strategies for retaining and promoting the success of vulnerable student populations.
- Lead OACP signature programs, including History and Heritage Month, and Gateways Pre-Orientation and more all aimed at enhancing student retention and success.
- Develop and implement a strategic approach to support students transitioning from UTampa into their post-graduate lives (Life After UTampa).
- Organize and manage the OACP Cultural Spring Break Experience, promoting cultural awareness and engagement among students.
- Develop and implement community training sessions.
- Assist with Bias Education Resource Team (BERT) and Spartan Support Case Management to provide resources and advocacy for students in need.
- Lead divisional social media initiatives, newsletters, and promotional materials writing, design, editing, and publication.
- Plan and coordinate the Welcome Back Brunch to welcome students at the beginning of the semester.
- Plan and facilitate the Nexus track of the Gateways Pre-Orientation Program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in program coordination, event planning, and budget management.
- Strong understanding of student success frameworks and retention strategies.
- Proficiency in innovative social media campaigns and marketing strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and initiatives.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Evenings and weekends as required
