Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Academic Development and Administration, the Program Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the operations, logistics, and program delivery of the Center. Working closely with faculty, students, and community partners, the Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of community-engaged courses, events, and initiatives that advance the university's mission of civic learning, public scholarship, and social responsibility. This position requires occasional weekend and evening work and possible travel.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates off-campus Community Engaged Learning (CEL) course activities, including scheduling and obtaining financial approvals.
- Liaises with CEL faculty and community partners to plan course activities and deliverables.
- Manages logistical needs for CEL courses, such as securing MetroCard/OMNY cards, processing travel requests, and arranging supplies and materials for faculty and students.
- Plans and executes center-sponsored events, workshops, and training sessions, ensuring clear communication and seamless delivery.
- Oversees room reservations, catering, and audiovisual needs for departmental events.
- Tracks and manages departmental budgets; processes CEL and the Bronx Research Institute for Community Solutions (BRICS) expenses, course invoices, reimbursements, and ensures compliance with university financial procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of CEL courses, BRICS projects, program participation, partnership activities, and program outcomes.
- Assists with onboarding and training of independent contractors, graduate assistants, and student fellows.
- Coordinates regular communication with key campus and community stakeholders, including program updates and event announcements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, event planning, or a related administrative role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Salary: $64,597.50
